Crosslybot feature

Footer trimming for cross-posting

Readers on VK don’t need a call to subscribe to your Telegram channel. Enter a short fragment of the footer — the bot cuts the line with it and everything below in every post for this target.

Many channels end every post with the same footer: “Follow us on Max”, links to the chat, the bot and other social networks. It makes sense inside Telegram, but in a VK community or a Max channel it only gets in the way. Crosslybot’s footer trimming removes it on every publication by a single marker.

Trimming is set up for each target separately, and the target signature can take the footer’s place — with the links this particular platform needs.

How it works

  1. 1

    Find where the footer starts

Look at the source channel’s posts: which line does the footer start with? For example, “Follow us on Max” or “Subscribe”.

  2. 2

    Set the marker

In the target settings, open Footer trim, turn it on and paste a short fragment of that line. No need to copy the whole footer.

  3. 3

The bot cuts by the marker

On publication, the line with the marker and everything below it are removed. If the post has no marker, it goes out in full.

  4. 4

    Add your own signature

The target signature is added to the end of the already trimmed post — with the links this platform actually needs.

What you get

The line and everything below

Just find where the footer starts: the bot removes the marker line and every line under it — links to the chat, bot, ad contacts.

Robust to formatting

The search is case-insensitive. Bold and italics, links, emoji and non-breaking spaces in the footer line don’t break the match.

Your headline is safe

The first line of a post is never treated as a footer. If the marker shows up in the headline, the bot skips it and searches below.

Separate setting per target

The setting lives in the target: trim the footer for VK and send the post in full to another Telegram channel.

Before replacements and AI

The footer is the first text edit to run: word replacement and AI translation work with the already trimmed post.

The source stays intact

The footer stays in your channel — only the copy of the post that goes to the target is trimmed.

FAQ

What should I use as a marker?

A short fragment of the single line the footer starts with, for example “Follow us”. Don’t copy the whole footer — the beginning of its first line is enough.

What if the post has no marker?

The post is published unchanged. Trimming only happens where the marker is found.

Why was the post trimmed more than needed?

The bot cuts at the first line containing the marker. If the same words appear higher, in the main text, trimming starts there. Pick a more unique fragment of the footer.

The marker is in the first line — will the whole post be cut?

No. The first line of a post is never treated as a footer: the bot skips it and looks for the marker below.

Does the footer formatting matter?

No. Letter case, bold and italics, links, emoji and the kind of spaces are ignored: the marker “follow us” finds the line “**Follow us** on Max 👉”.

Do I need to trim the signature Crosslybot adds to the source channel?

No. The source signature is not passed to other platforms — the bot removes it on its own. Footer trimming is for text you write in posts yourself.

Can I put my own text in place of the footer?

Yes, that is what the target signature in the same settings is for. It is added to the end of the already trimmed post. Other target settings — on the Flexible settings page.
