Project and target pause for cross-posting

Pause the whole project or one specific target — posts queue up, then publish.

Features

Pause the entire project

Pause the whole project — all targets stop publishing until the timer ends. Useful for night hours, maintenance windows, or pre-event preparation.

Pause a single target

Pause publishing to just one target — other targets in the project keep working. Handy when you need to give one channel a break (e.g. after an ad) without affecting others.

Flexible duration

Presets from 1 to 5 hours or a custom value in minutes (up to 24 hours). Set through Mini App, web version, or bot.

No posts lost

All posts from the source are saved while the pause is active. When time's up — they publish automatically with 1-minute intervals between posts.

Resume early

Changed your mind? Hit Resume. Accumulated posts start publishing immediately with 1-minute intervals.

Countdown timer

See how long until the pause ends right in the interface. A 'Paused until HH:MM' badge shows on the project card and on each target.

FAQ

What's the difference between project pause and target pause?

Project pause stops publishing to ALL targets in the project at once. Target pause affects only one specific target — other targets continue publishing normally. If both are active, posts wait for the later of the two timers.

Which plans support pause?

Both project pause and target pause are available on Pro, Maxi, and Business plans.

What happens to posts during a pause?

Posts from the source are saved in the queue with 'Scheduled' status. When the pause ends — they publish automatically with 1-minute intervals, in source order.

Can I resume early?

Yes, hit Resume on the project or target page. Accumulated posts will be rescheduled and start publishing immediately with 1-minute intervals.

Does AI processing run during a pause?

AI processing runs at publish time, not during the pause. When the post is finally sent — AI processes the current text.

What's the maximum pause duration?

Maximum is 24 hours (1,440 minutes). Presets: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 hours.

When should I use target pause instead of project pause?

Target pause is useful when you want to temporarily stop publishing to one channel without affecting others. Example: after an ad post, pause the main channel for an hour but keep publishing to the backup.

Temporary pause in Crosslybot works at two levels: the whole project or a single target. Posts from the source keep arriving, accumulate in the queue, and publish automatically with 1-minute intervals after the pause ends.

When to use project pause

Pause the entire project — all targets stop publishing until the timer ends:

  • Night hours — posts pile up and go out as a batch in the morning
  • Maintenance on the source channel or external service
  • Pre-launch prep — accumulate enough posts before going live
  • Holidays — delay publishing through the weekend

When to use target pause

Stop publishing to a single target — other targets in the project keep working:

  • After an ad post — give the main channel an hour-long break from ads while other platforms keep publishing
  • Testing one channel — pause publishing to one place to verify settings on the others
  • Different audience activity — a Telegram channel and a VK community have different peak hours; shift one without changing the other
  • Local incident — one channel hits temporary limits (moderation, raid, spam filter); the rest continue working

Target pause doesn’t require a separate project — it’s a per-target setting right on the target page.

How it works

  1. Open the project → go to target settings (or the project itself for an overall pause)
  2. Click “Pause publishing”, pick a duration (1-5 hours preset or custom minutes)
  3. A ”⏸ Paused until HH:MM” badge appears on the card — viewers see publishing is temporarily paused
  4. Posts from the source keep arriving and accumulating in the queue
  5. When the pause ends — posts go out with 1-minute intervals, in source order

If both project pause and target pause are active, posts wait for the later of the two timers. This lets you extend a project-wide pause with a longer pause on one specific target.

Available on Pro, Maxi, and Business plans.
